I’m the eldest son—big brother to a fearless younger brother and a sister ten years my junior. Husband to someone who’s deeply privacy-conscious. Father to two adventurous daughters. Chief of the Nex tribe. Being protective isn’t just something I do—it’s part of who I am.
So when we built Nex Playground, safety, privacy, and security were the first things we thought about.
We’ve all been there. Handing over a new screen to our kids can feel like opening Pandora’s box—TVs, tablets, phones, even smartwatches. You never know what might sneak in.
Will it show them ads? Lead them to inappropriate content? Pull them into habits we’re not ready for? Will it start the cycle of screen-time arguments?
We don’t want that. So we built something better.
Nex Playground was designed to be parent-aligned from day one—not retrofitted with parental controls after the fact, or reduced to a parental consent that hands off the problem. Compliance is just the baseline. We designed it intentionally for families.

2. Every game is curated—and we take full responsibility.
There’s no open app store. No random third-party content. Everything on Nex is either built or vetted by us.
And if something slips through—a character name that’s off, or a game item that resembles an energy drink—we fix it. Fast.
Parents also have additional content controls. You decide what’s right for your kids.
3. Data stays local. Your privacy stays private.
The camera tracks motion locally on the device in real time. No video ever leaves your home.
The only data we collect is anonymous gameplay stats—to help us improve the experience.
4. A closed system means a safer system.
Nex Playground is built on a secure, modern Android-based operating system.
No browser. No app store. No backdoors. That means fewer ways in—and fewer things to worry about.
We undergo third-party security reviews to make sure it stays secure.
5. KidSAFE+ COPPA Certified.
Nex Playground meets the highest standards for family safety. We’re KidSAFE+ certified and fully compliant with COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act).

Posted this on fb too but I recently shared the Nex Playground with the founder of Protect Young Eyes because your approach in this area is so refreshing - while having truly great games! He was intrigued and plans to look more into it this summer to see if it’s something he’d recommend.
Too many tech companies put profits over child safety. So thankful Nex is different.
Your privacy policy says "When you use the Services, we may collect information about you, including name, email address, performance statistics, user name, photos/ videos or preferences and we may link this information with other information about you."
You say that's not true. Which do I believe?
I tend to believe the lawyers over a claim on a blog.
